URGENT appeal for funds

This appeal is being headed up by Worldcare foundation which is the new name for Edinburgh cares headed up by Akeel Umar (just so you recognise who it is)

This little boy fled ISIS with mum, dad and brother. Heater exploded in refugee camp and Mum and brother died.

He is severely burned. Worldcare’s far reach means they can help him get the treatment he needs.

Trip to Athens – what’s happening…

Ann Henders is currently in Athens accompanied by Sarah from SHARE. Unfortunately Jane was not able to make it due to family circumstances so Sarah has kindly stepped in. Here’s what Ann and Sarah will be doing this week:

Monday: Help at hope tomorrow and go to see about crockery and cutlery for refugee meals
Tuesday: Help at the orange house, run by zataar organisation, it’s a house for single women and kids who are refugees and so they taking the games we bought, a wooden trainset and buying some fresh fruit and veg as they advise
Wednesday: Helping hope cafe in the day and then out with Arthur Ciplakka’s Refugee’s refuge street feeding/outreach team at night
Thursday: Helping at the central warehouse and big camp at the airport as far as I know or maybe just the warehouse that serves camps, the squats and all over and always needs help sorting etc
Friday: will probs be a farewell at hope cafe before they head home.

Aid trip to Athens to help refugees. We leave on 26th Feb

Ann and I (Jane) leave for Athens on 26th February to take as much aid as we can carry and to buy as much as we can out there.
I’d also like to take a lot of fabric for the women’s craft and making co-operative.

 

I’d like to buy food for the families living in the refugee squats and to buy stuff for the kids where we can.
